ROLE: BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER (Biopharma)

Location: Remote in USA


PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

NuProbe is cutting-edge genomics and molecular diagnostics company building a portfolio of novel technologies to detect genomic alterations with ultra-high sensitivity for non-invasive cancer monitoring and biomarker detection.

We are searching for a Manager of Business Development to join our Commercial team and play a key role in building new business relationships with large pharma and biotech companies. As a Manager of Business Development, you will source, negotiate, and execute high-value and high-impact biopharma partnerships focused on custom assay development and sample testing services to support translational research and clinical development programs.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Identify and develop partnerships with large pharma and biotech companies, prioritize actionable leads, and conduct early-stage outreach
  • Establish business relationships with key decision makers and senior executives, and support the initiation and development of new accounts
  • Support the progression of clients through the business development funnel through continued analysis and liaising with internal stakeholders to communicate needs
  • Lead proposal development, term sheet generation, and negotiations for licensing and commercial partnership deals
  • Achieve an in-depth understanding of client's needs and be able to communicate to the internal organization
  • Provide accurate forecasting to leadership and deliver against targets
  • Identify opportunities for expansion in key growth markets and regions

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Strong knowledge and experience in negotiating services or licensing contracts with biopharma. Experience in both is a plus
  • Demonstrated track record of building and managing relationships with biopharma executives
  • Proven ability to effectively prioritize multiple projects at a time
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Positive attitude with ability to readily adapt to change and solve problems
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and Salesforces or equivalent
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% as required and present at industry conferences
  • Adapt and be flexible to changing priorities

Job Qualifications and Education:

  • Bachelor's degree required preferably in Business, Science, or Economics. MS, MBA, or PhD degree desired.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in relevant business development and/or translational research roles required

Physical Demands:

This position requires sitting at a desk, standing, bending and extensive use of computer and other work-related electronic devices. Lab positions require elongated standing and sitting where the worker must tend to time sensitive procedures. Must be able to push, pull, hold files and confer in office spaces. During time of pandemic, this and other roles require the employee to wear a mask over the nose and mouth while on the work premises. Must be able to carry or pick-up items up to 25 pounds at any time. Employees must keep safety rules and good work practices a priority. Any accommodations must be requested through Human Resources.
